During that time period, I was also involved in a Korean martial art named Tae kwon Do, and after six years of hard work, I achieved the rank of black belt. I was taught to be a master of myself in the physical, mental, and spiritual senses. After reaching that goal, I shifted my focus back to Boy Scouts, which I had slightly abandoned when I turned 12. Through a series of important events and because of people I respect very much, I was able to improve myself and recognize my faults and weaknesses. Right before turning 17, I earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which had been another lifelong goal. I had also decided on graduating early from high school.
I enjoy playing the drums, soccer, hiking, snowboarding, camping, and everything to do with the outdoors. Like many people, I love food and sleep, and can't get enough of either. Some of my hobbies include rock and coin collecting. I enjoy talking to and learning about others. I've always strived to make the most out of my education. Science is a subject has always interested me, and because of that, and because I want to help others, I want to pursue a career in optometry. My goal is to have a family and work to provide everything they need.
I was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, where I grew up with 4 older siblings and spent about 5 years there before moving to Alamosa, Colorado, where I would spend most of my life.
About Me
I graduated from Alamosa High School in 2013 and worked until my 18th birthday, and then left on a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served in Atlanta, Georgia for about eight months and then finished in the northeast of Brazil. About halfway through my service, my parents told me that they were moving to Utah. Little did I know I would end up here in Cedar City going to a university that I had never heard of, but would come to love very much.

Now, having been a student at Southern Utah University for almost two years, I've tried to find opportunities to grow and learn. This has included everything from service activities to leadership opportunities. One of the learning experiences I've had has been doing research, as described in the project, reflections, and details sections of this website. It's given me the chance to develop soft skills as well as prepare me for the future career that I hope to have.
