Over the years, I've had a variety of jobs (in order to broaden my skillset), and I've learned some important lessons. I've learned how to work with a team, as well as how to work by myself. I enjoy doing my best work in anything that I do, and will try to improve the company I work for. I don't treat work lightly, regardless of the position, and that has helped me to gain a good reputation with my employers.

Teaching Assistant
August 2017 - Present
I am a teaching assistant for one of the Human Anatomy labs here at SUU. I have the responsibility of helping the students answer questions and to give them hands-on experiences with the cadavers in the lab. I also have the responsibility of grading the students' assignments.
Groundskeeper

Summer 2016 and Summer 2017

As a groundskeeper I had the responsibility to make sure the part of campus that I watched over stayed clean and beautiful. For the most part, I worked alone, with the occasional visit from my supervisor. I was trusted to get the job done without being watched every minute of the day. If I didn't do the work, it would be easy to see so there is was way to slack off.

Log Sorter

August 2013 - November 2013

As a log sorter for a rustic log furniture company, I had two major responsibilites: 1) To receive wood acceptable for making all kinds os furniture and 2) To sort the wood by size and type. I worked about have of the time with a supervisor and fellow employees, but towards the end worked by myself as well. This is where I learned how to work hard without supervision, which I believe is something valuable that I have now.

Cook

June 2012 - August 2012

I worked at Sonic Drive In as a cook and, unlike my current job, worked with a large team of employees. I learned the importance of working with others, as well as how to communicate well with everyone. Although it may seem trivial, communication is extremely important, especially in the fast food business, and I assum even more important in professional careers.

Southern Utah University
2016 - present

I'm a senior at SUU and love being here! Being in college isn't exactly how I imagined it. In fact, it's better than I imagined. I've learned the importance of balancing everything I do, from school studying to work to having fun. I can say that because of college, I'm learning how to be a more balanced professional, and know that in the future, the skills I'm learning here will be invaluable.
